Mr. John S. Goe
Box 15, Brownsville, Fayette Co. Pa.

Dear Sir; I wrote you for a bill of the sheep Mr. Van Etten purchased of you, because I furnished him the money to purchase my sheep, for which he was my agent, and he could give me no account of how he spent it, stating that he has lost his accounts, consequently I had to refer back to you.

Your reply that you "do not know that you have bill to forward" is equally unsatisfactory.

It is not that I mistrust Mr. Van Etten, neither had I any business connections with him further than buying the sheep for me, but I like doing business in a business way.

As to your remark, that your "religious prejudices have nothing to do with your business," if such is the case, why mention them? It is certain, they should not, and I would not have supposed they had, if you had not mentioned them.

I asked you for the bill, if you cannot furnish it, I can do without it.
