My dear Son,

As Bishop Sharp is about starting east to negotiate some Utah Southern bonds. I drop you a few lines, hoping this will find you and Bro. Carrington safe and well in New York City.

We are extremely anxious for your return as you are so much needed at St. George. I do not see how we can spare you away from home any longer so we wish you to return as speedily
as possible.

I would like you to turn over all the bonds you have to Bishop Sharp who will receipt to you for the same.

The Bishop will give you all the local news. My health has been poorly for the last ten days, but I feel better now, and am still recovering. Remember me to Bro. Carrington if he is with you. also to Bro Staines.

Your Affectionate Father
Brigham Young
