Elder Joseph Stay,

St. Louis, Mo.

Dear Bro:-- Yours of Oct. 24, has been received. The date of your Conference Minutes is Oct. 4. We think it would be better for you to hold your conference meetings after we hold ours, then when you get a statement of the authorities voted in at our <General> Conference, you can present them to the saints in St. Louis.

Elder Albert Carrington was voted for as Prest. of the Perpetual Emigrating Fund instead of Elder H. S. Eldredge.

You should also bear in mind that we selected seven counsellors instead of two, namely George A. Smith; Daniel H. Wells; Lorenzo Snow; B. Young, Jr.; Albert Carrington; John W. Young; and George Q. Cannon. Those brethren were voted for at eh April Conference and when the saints aborad hold conferences, they should do likewise.

Peace be with you and all Israel, is the prayer of

Your Bro. in the Gospel,
Brigham Young
