Dear Sir [loss]

at this Office, and duly noted; [loss] General [loss]
order No One. [loss]
We now further inform you Geo. A. Smith [loss]
has been assigned to the Command [loss]
of the Nauvoo Legion; you will therefore act under his instructions until further orders
I observe in [loss]
inst. lst James Allred was ordered to to move to Manti, but he thought he was able to maintain his position at [loss]
to move and commenced to fortify the settlement
I consider his position dangerous, and should [loss]
by some means.
[loss] 2nd at Manti in order to form [loss] I offered to
proceed under the command of Major or to take the comnand
myself, [loss] to by him, but he chose to await
your orders to himself individuallIy before he could act.
