Orange L. Wight,

Dear Bro.

I was truly gratified by receiving a few lines from you per last mail.

It has always been with regret that I viewed the course your father has pursued. No question but he had his notions, whether they were for good or evil, it will become his province to answer to his God.

Things appear to be with him now as I have anticipated they would, giving another sure indication that whoever seeks to build himself up, at the expense of this Kingdom will come to nought. I have not as yet been able to make enquiry of Bro Higbees family as they live in Utah County about 46 miles south of this place. I will however enclose the Letter to him and forward it next Mail. Your cousin Lewis Wight is living in this vicinity and doing very well.

Bro Frederick Kesler will be in St. Louis from about the first of May until the first or middle of June, as also is Bro. Horace S. Eldredge of whom you can enquire of all Particulars concerning us. Bro Eldredge will Probably leave about the first of June for this City.

I am truly glad to hear that you still adhere to the teachings of Joseph our martyred Prophet. Be faithful and prayerful and the Lord will bless and lead you right.
I Remain Your Brother & friend in the Gospel of
christ

Brigham Young
