Dear Brother,

Your letter of the 30th Dec. A. D. 1854, setting forth your difficulties and troubles between you and your wife came safely to hand.

My counsel to you is to have a separation, from the contents of your letter I glean that it seems out of the question for you to live happy together as husband and wife therefore the sooner you are apart the better.

Enclosed you will find a blank schedule of Divorce which you will fill up and properly sign, according to the directions marked in pencil, and get your wife to sign it also, when completed enclose the full schedule in an envelope, and direct it to me at my office, and upon receipt, each##ortion will be forwarded by Mail to their respective Residences.

You will keep your eldest child, the rest the mother may take care of.
