Bro. Watson,

The bearer of this note is sent to you specially to ascertain if you have burned the coal you promised, as the Sugar Works is no ready to commence operation, and we want the coal forthwith; it will be a daily loss to us over $100 if the coal is not immediately forthcoming.

We expected that you would have notified us previous to this late date of the coal being ready but are in a measure disappointed; you will upon receipt of this inform the bearer, when we can depend upon a pit full.
