Dear Brother:--
Your note of the 12th inst. is received. I also received a note from Bros. Brunson and Hoyt, of Fillmore City, confirming your report about the failure of the water and, further, that the mission was entirely discontinued. The brethren will therefore probably be home before this reaches you, and it is right for them to stay there and take care of their crops and prepare for winter.

You need not reserve the mill site you mention in your letter as I shall not need it at present and if I shall at any future time, there are plenty of sites in your part of the country which will accommodate all the machinery we shall want to put up, as we still consider a mill necessary at your place to grind tithing and other grain.
