Dr. William France,

Dear Brother:--
Elder O. Pratt, in compliance with your request, presented me with your letter to him, bearing date July 23d, and I have noted its contents. Your wife called upon me to day, the first I have seen her for some time, and in her remarks I noticed no very serious feeling against you, and I am not aware that she has at any time indulged in any very grave comments upon your conduct, and do not know of any important reason why existing difficulties may be amicably adjusted.

Sister France has received the bundle of clothes you forwarded for her.
I have heard that you are building in Springville, and in that case it appears to be most conducive to your interest to replace the windows in your house in this city, placing it in at least as good repair as it was at the time of leaving it, and permitting Mrs. France to occupy a part of it, thereby affording you an opportunity to rent the remainder for much more than the windows and torn up flooring would benefit you in Springville.

When you come to this city please call upon me and we will talk over matters; and should you not feel able to leave the floors, windows, &c. in your house here, perhaps I may be able to assist you to some lumber for your building in Springville
