Nathan Davis Esqr.

Dear Brother:--
We understand that we are likely to have a considerable quantity of Cotton at the Cotton Farms south. We suppose that it will become necessary in the abscence of a cotton gin to have a set of rollers or cotton pickers.

Brother Horne has not suggested any thing about it, but if any thing of the sort should be wanted you will please furnish it if you find it in your power to do so.

It is not expected to go into a great expense but to furnish a simple machine suitable for the purpose, if the brethren shall need it though it is possible that they will construct one for themselves in which case of course it will be all right.

If they want you to make it for them Brother Horne will inform you. All is well though during, the recent hot weather summer complaints have been prevailing principally among children.

No news from the east of any General interest.

Brother Feasler has arrived. If Brother Derrick can be spared and can sometime find a convenient way of coming we would be glad to have him return to this City.

May the Lord bless you and all Israel and help them to triumph over all their enemies

I remain as ever your Brother in the Gospel of peace

Brigham Young
