Bro. H. S. Eldredge,

Senator Broderick before leaving asked for the names of the parties that took the salt to the army last winter. I enclose you the paper containing the whole of the Correspondence, which you are at liberty if you please to hand to him, retaining for yourself such facts as you need. In addition to secretary Earl and Wood[ard?] and I was obliged to exchange the wagon for pack mules and add six men to the number, in consequence of the depth of the snow on the route to Bridger.
