Dwight Eveleth Esq:

Dear Bro.

I send by Bro. H. W. Lawrence a list of Law Books which I would be glad to have you assist him in purchasing.  Care will be required in selecting the proper and perfect editions, having strict reference to the list.  You are hereby authorized to Collect the tithing of the Saints in California, giving receipts therefor, and hold the same subject to the order of the Trustee in Trust.  You will require to use every precaution against mistakes in this matter, keeping invariably full and correct accounts of your receipts and disbursements.  You will please advance the necessary means to purchase and forward the books above referred to.

Your brother in Christ.
