Dear Brother:--
In reply to your note of march 8, I have to inform you that to prevent confusion, operate understandingly, and honor authorities according to their station and calling, I have made a general practice, where I am not personally well acquainted with the parties in question, to require a recommend from their Bishop. Please counsel with your Bishop upon the matter concerning which you wrote me, and if he deems it best for you to take any steps in the direction you mention, ask him to advise me accordingly.
