Bp. William G. Young

Dear Bro.  I wish to give you a word of caution about one James Button who has formerly been in the employ of the Church, breaking wild horses &c. but has lately left and is very much disaffected, making many threats, says he has worked some time for the Church for which he cannot get his pay and says he will have his revenge.  As he thinks of going away soon I would like you to keep a good lookout for him, that he may not steal any animals from your Settlement.  He has been well paid for his services and I would not like him to succeed in stealing any of our stock.  It is supposed he has several associated with him in his evil designs.

Yours as ever

Daniel H. Wells
