Dear Brother:--

As the 'Deseret News' is about commencing a new Volume, We have concluded to make some changes in its management.  It is our request that you take Editorial charge of it, as well as the financial, thereby releasing Brother Carrington, so as to enable him to attend to other duties.

Hoping that this will meet with your feelings, and not be considered as devolving too great a burden upon you; and every praying the Lord to aid you with the influence of His Spirit, We remain truly your friend and brother
