To Major Rose,
Indian Sub-Agent.

Sir,
Enclosed you will find a communication from the citizens of Box Elder, North of Weber County.  You will perceive that the laws regulating intercourse with the Indians have been violated in the most flagran manner.  I have therefore considered that all such persons ought to be prosecuted and brought to justice.  I wish you to attend to this matter immediately in order to prevent further difficulty in the settlement.

Any further discoveries that you may make wherein the law has been violated should also be noticed in order that the law may be enforced on all alike, and the laws regulating intercourse with the Indians be preserved inviolate.

I have the honor
to be most respectfully
Yours &c

Brigham Young
