I want You to gather three or four men, well armed, and accompany the Mail Carrier to Goose Creek, and endeavor to recover the Property which was left by them on Goose Creek,-- where they were unfortunately under the necesity of leaving their property, when bringing the Mail from California to this place; and make report to me the first opportunity,
