1859 June 14 Letter to Bernard Price

Mr. Bernard Price,
West Pittsfield, Mass.,

Dear Sir:--
Your letter of May 8, addressed to Prest. H. C. Kimball, was this day handed to me by Pres. Kimball, and in reply I have to inform you that I deem the overland route by way of the Platte River much the best. Our immigration makes Florence, a town on the Missouri river, in Nebraska Territory, their starting point from the western frontiers, and travels on the north side of the Platte, through the South Pass, &c. By the time you receive this, it will probably be too late for you to start this season, as the immigration generally aims to leave the Missouri river as early as grass will sustain animals, and seldom later than the 1st of July,

Respectfully

Brigham Young Sen
