Dear Brother:--

It appears that br. John Davis furnished the Eastern Expedition with an b 50 bushels oats. He has been unfortunate in looseing his ox, and being poor and needy I laid the matter before President B. Young and he directed that he should receive an ox from the tithing. you will therefore please obtain one for him and accomodate him the best you can, at your earliest convenience.
