President's Office,
G. S. Lake City, U. T.
Jan. 4th, 1865.

Hon. John F. Kinney, M. C.,
House of Representatives
Washington City, D. C.

My dear Sir:

While writing to you on the 2nd instant on the subject of the Post Master of G. S. L. City, and in reply to your favor in which you give extracts of letters written from here to the P. O. Department by Gov. Doty, Secy. Reed and Gen. Connor urging the removal of Mr. Stenhouse, the present incumbent, I omitted to state that I should be pleased if you could procure me the original letters which they wrote, and if you cannot procure the originals I should like to obtain copies.

I have a curiosity to see these letters, or copies of them, and to them for reference; they may be convenient.

With love I remain
Yours truly,

Brigham Young
