President's Office
Great Salt Lake City Jan 31, 1865--

President Wm H Dame and Bishops Wm S. Warren and Henry Lunt,
Parowan, Iron County.

Dear Brethren:

It is my intention, in company with Pres. Heber C. Kimball and several other brethren, to visit the Southern portion of our Territory in the Spring. We expect to start from here on or about april 12th, and will probably visit the Colorado before we return. I am desirous of obtaining three span of horses at your settlement to put on to my carriages, and President Kimball would like to obtain three span for his use, to take us from Parowan down to the Colorado and back so that our teams that we take from this City may rest until we return. If you could procure suitable animals that are used to picking up a living on the range, they would answer better than horses which have been accustomed to eating grain steadily.

With love, I remain Your Brother

Brigham Young
