President's Office,
G. S. Lake City, Feb. 2nd /65.

Elder David M. Holladay,
Santa Quin,

Dear Brother,

Your favor of the 31st ult, in relation to the difficulties which have arisen in your place with the people about land and the water to irrigate with, and asking me to appoint a man to settle these difficulties, has just been received.

Bro. Geo. A. Smith, with a company of Elders, started on a preaching tour to San Pete Valley and the settlements between here and there and as they will pass through your place, you had better call upon him to settle this matter.

Your Brother

Brigham Young
