President's Office,
G. S. Lake City, Feb. 3/65.

Elder David M. Holladay,
Santaquin,

Dear Brother:

We have received the names of two heads of families, who have volunteered from your place to go to the Colorado.

These brethren had better arrange for some persons of their number to go down South on their behalf, and select and secure some land, and put in grain, e[missing] right away, that they may have something provided to sustain their families when they shall go down.

When they reach St. George, they should report themselves to Bro. Erastus Snow, who will be able to counsel them as to where they shall settle.

I remain Your Brother,

Brigham Young
