Dear Sir:

Your favor of the 11th of Jan. informing me that you have received Letters Patent for the manufacture of Sugar from Sorghum, has just been received.

I have no wish to take hold of such an enterprise, as it is a business that I do not wish to engage in. There have been parties trying to negotiate for the Manufacture of Sugar here; but I have not heard how they have succeeded
