Bishop Peter Maughan,

Dear Brother,

A young man by the name of Thomas O. King, who has just returned a four years Mission to England, is intending to go to Cache Valley and take up a place there. He has not had much experience in such business, having been quite young when he left here on his Mission. I should be pleased if you would see to him, and give him such counsel as he may need, especially respecting the best course for him to take to obtain a good piece of land an get it fenced, as he has not much means to operate with. His parents reside here.

We have had two sad accidents here to-day. Bro. Robert Daft was instantaneously killed to-day by a ball from a loaded pistol which he was handling. He was a gunsmith. A brother Chas. Millard had a part of his house fall down which overturned two stoves and the building took fire, burning up a child 5 years old.

With love, I remain Your Brother
