President's Office,
G. Salt Lake City, March 27th, 1865.

Wm. B. Kelly,
Union,

Dear Brother,

Your favor of the 22nd instant on the subject of your going to the States on a visit to transact business, has been received.

I feel that your better course is to stay here and let your property in the States remain where it is. If you stay here, and do that which is right you will enjoy peace; but if you go away, you will have trouble. This is my counsel, and you will make more by so doing than by taking any other course.

I remain Your Brother,

Brigham Young
