President's Office,
G. Salt Lake City
April 17th 1865.

Mrs. Sarah G. Smith

Dear Sister:-

Your note of this morning, complaining of the treatment you have received from bro. Gibson Smith, has come safely to hand.

As near as I can learn, the stove which you claim and wish to have returned to you was bought, in part at least, by potatoes which justly belonged to Bro. H. C. Kimball, he having furnished the seed from which they were raised and plowed the land to plant them on.

In as much as you have had such a hard time in taking care of the old [?] gentleman I am pleased at your release from him. I hope you will be able to get along very well now, as you will have no body to take care of but yourselve.

As for my cupboard, of which you speak, you are welcome to it if it will be of any use to you.

Respectfully,
