Dear Brother:

Your letter of yesterday, describing the condition of your health, &c has just been handed to me by Bishop Hess.

Until I read your letter I was not aware that your health was so bad. Under the circumstances I think that it will be well to release you and not to insist upon your going abroad. You are hereby released, therefore, from the Mission to Europe to which you was appointed at the recent Conference.
