Presidents Office
G. Salt Lake City,
April 24th 1865.

Elder Carl Larsen,

Dear Brother:-

Your favors of To-day's date, on the Subject of getting a situation as clerk in the Tithing Office, has just been received.

In reply, I have to say that we will not need any help in the Tithing Office in the place of Bro. Anderson, and there is no other vacancy at present that you could be selected to fill, unless you were to go out into the country and act as clerk for some of the Bishops; but in a position of that kind your salary would be a limited one, not near so good as, I imagine, you get where you are. As you have employment with Bro. Jennings, I think it would be much better for you to stay with him than to change for a position in the country, even if there were a vacancy there.

I remain Your Brother,

Brigham Young
